Tests whether actively saving through a digital wallet, not simply owning one, helps households absorb a financial shock better than saving through ajo, esusu, or adashe. Covers shock absorption capacity, how fast households recover normal spending after a shock, and the welfare trade-offs, such as skipped meals, asset sales, or high-cost borrowing, that can come with that recovery. Covers women and youth savers, with fieldwork spanning Kaduna, Yobe, Enugu, and Ondo States.
