EFInA held the first edition of the Microlending Workshop in August 2018 with stakeholders. The workshop was set up to discuss the challenges within the credit sector and come up with creative solutions as well as opportunities within the space. In attendance were Deposit Money Banks (DMBs), Microfinance Banks (MFBs), Regulators, Credit Bureaus, CBN Collateral Registry and Microlending Companies. Highlight of the meeting are as follows:

• Presentation by EFInA’s Programme Specialist on “Use of Digital Microcredit in enhancing Financial Inclusion”.
• Presentation by Mr. Tunde Popoola of CRC Credit Bureau on “The involvement of credit bureau in digitised microlending”
• A representative from the National Collateral Registry (NCR) of the CBN gave a short discussion and explanation on the objective of the NCR and its implication to microlending in Nigeria
