In line with EFInA’s mission to catalyze the development of innovative financial services for the un(der)banked population as well as maximize the opportunities COVID-19 presents, EFInA is organising a Hackathon Challenge tagged “#FinTech4wd” in September 2020.  The hackathon is designed to bring the top 10 ideas from the recently-concluded EFInA Ideathon Challenge to life, in the form of prototypes. These innovative solutions will leverage digital financial services (DFS) to solve the supply chain and market problems that microenterprises experience in the light of the pandemic. The hackathon will run for a period of 2 weeks.

Following the hackathon, EFInA may provide grant funding to select the top 3 prototypes (i.e. technologically implemented ideas from the ideathon) to enable them scale the solution. The solutions developed during the hackathon will be evaluated based on the Product design, Innovativeness, Scalability and Presentation.

EFInA has partnered with the following organisations to drive this execution of the Hackathon Initiative, Financial Services Innovators (FSI), Google Development Group (GDG), Shared Agency Network Expansion Facility (SANEF), UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, Fintech NGR and Product Dive.
